Privacy Policy

Overview

PlayCast is a broadcast tool. It uses your phone's camera, microphone, and internet connection to stream and record youth sports. Your recordings, clips, overlays, and game information stay on your device unless you choose to share them. PlayCast does not collect, upload, or store your personal information or your content on any PlayCast server.

Permissions PlayCast Uses and Why

Camera

Required to capture video for live streaming and local recording. PlayCast streams your camera feed directly to the destination you choose, such as YouTube. The video is never sent to or stored by PlayCast.

Microphone

Required to capture audio alongside your video for broadcasts and recordings. Audio goes directly into your stream and local recording, not to PlayCast.

Storage

PlayCast writes video segments, recordings, and clips to your device's storage. You control these files. PlayCast does not upload them anywhere unless you explicitly choose to.

Internet

Required to send your live stream to the destination you configure and to communicate with the YouTube API if you use YouTube live streaming.

Network and WiFi State

PlayCast monitors your network connection to maintain stream quality, detect signal strength, and run speed tests before a broadcast. No network data is sent to PlayCast; it is used on-device only to keep your stream stable.

Location for WiFi Scanning

Android requires location permission to scan for nearby WiFi networks. PlayCast uses this only to display available networks so you can connect to venue WiFi before a broadcast. PlayCast does not record, store, or transmit your location.

Photos for Team Logos

If you choose to add a team logo, PlayCast accesses your photo library to let you pick an image. The image is stored locally on your device and used in your scoreboard overlay. It is not uploaded to PlayCast.

Saved WiFi Credentials

If you choose to save a venue WiFi network, PlayCast stores the network name and password locally on your device so it can reconnect automatically during future broadcasts. These credentials are protected using Android security features where available and are never uploaded to PlayCast.

Google Sign-In and YouTube

If you choose to stream through YouTube, PlayCast uses Google Sign-In to connect your account. PlayCast may receive your name, email address, Google account ID, and profile picture to identify your account and maintain your session on the device.

PlayCast uses Google Sign-In to authenticate securely, connect your YouTube account, identify available YouTube channel information needed for streaming, and maintain your authorized session.

PlayCast uses the YouTube Data API to create live broadcasts you request, manage those broadcasts, prepare a live stream destination, and help you go live from the app.

PlayCast does not access Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, or Google Contacts. PlayCast does not sell Google account information or use it for advertising.

This information is stored locally on your device using Android security features where available. PlayCast does not transmit it to any PlayCast server.

Your use of Google Sign-In and YouTube is also governed by Google's Privacy Policy and the YouTube Terms of Service.

PlayCast is not affiliated with Google or YouTube.

What PlayCast Does Not Do

• PlayCast does not collect or store your data on any PlayCast server.
• PlayCast does not sell your information.
• PlayCast does not use your information for advertising.
• PlayCast does not access your recordings, streams, or clips.

No PlayCast Cloud Storage

PlayCast does not operate a cloud storage service for your recordings, clips, broadcasts, or account information. Everything remains on your device unless you choose to upload content to a third-party service such as YouTube.

Your Content Is Yours

Everything PlayCast records stays on your device until you choose to share or delete it. You decide what to do with your footage: upload it, share it, archive it, or delete it. PlayCast has no access to it.

Subscriptions

If you purchase a PlayCast subscription, payment processing, billing, and subscription management are handled entirely by Google Play. PlayCast does not receive or store your payment information.

Deleting Your Data

You can remove PlayCast data at any time by signing out of your Google account within the app, clearing app storage in Android Settings, deleting recording files from your device storage, uninstalling the app, or revoking PlayCast access in your Google Account permissions.

Children's Privacy

PlayCast is intended for parents, coaches, teams, leagues, and organizations managing sports broadcasts. It is not directed at children under 13. PlayCast does not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
